INTERAGENCY APPRAISAL RULES FOR HIGHER-PRICED MORTGAGE LOANS

On January 16, 2013 the FDIC published an interagency rule to amend Regulation Z, as required by  the Dodd-Frank Act. The new rule established appraisal requirements for “higher-priced mortgages.” The other federal financial institution regulatory agencies are expected to join the effort on January 18th. FDIC – VIOLATION CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) recently announced (FIL-41-2012) a revision to the classification system for citing violations identified during compliance examinations. The revisions better communicate the severity of violations and help distinguish more serious violations from those more technical in nature.
