2020 HOME MORTGAGE DISCLOSURE ACT THRESHOLD INCREASE

On December 20, 2019 the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau published a final rule amending the official commentary that interprets the requirements of Regulation C (Home Mortgage Disclosure Act) to reflect the asset-size exemption threshold for banks, savings associations, and credit unions based on the annual percentage change in the average of the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W). FINAL HMDA REVISIONS PUBLISHED

On October 10 the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) published a rule that completes portions of the proposed rule, issued last May, to revise the Regulation C coverage thresholds and complete partial Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act (EGRRCPA) exemptions.. On August 31, 2019 the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) announced the availability of data on mortgage lending transactions at 5,683 U.S. financial institutions covered by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). Covered institutions include banks, savings associations, credit unions, and mortgage companies. The released information includes loan-level HMDA data covering 2018 lending activity that were submitted on or before August 7, 2019. On August 30 the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) announced the availability of data on mortgage lending transactions at 5,683 U.S. financial institutions covered by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).
