On March 13 the Senate joined the House of Representatives by passing a bill to reverse flood insurance reforms and curb flood insurance premium increases. Recently the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) published a summary of the changes to the National Flood Insurance Program that will be effective on June 1, 2014. Recently the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Farm Credit Administration, the National Credit Union Administration (jointly referred to as the Agencies) issued 166 pages of proposed rules for loans in areas having special flood hazards.
