The HUD’s SCRA notice expired and they finally updated it with a new expiration date and changed the legal protection for a servicemember from one year to 90 days as it was supposed to change to on Jan. 1, 2015. However, from what I have read, the President extended the coverage for these servicemembers and the one year still stands until the end of 2015. However, the new HUD notice doesn’t reflect the extension the President made. How are we supposed to handle this issue? Should we change the new HUD notice so it is accurate?

I don’t see a problem with including the correct information. However, I believe it would be a good idea to also include language that states as of December 31, 2015 the one year timeframes are set to revert back to the original 90 days. Also, you’ll have to remember to update this information at year end.

On the other hand, I don’t believe you can be scrutinized for using the form as HUD released it.
