During processing of a self employed borrower that has multiple businesses, the applicant ended up having negative income. Do we report the negative income or just 0 for income?
See p. 23 (FR p. 43110) of the 2017 final rule:
…Finally, the Bureau notes that the
2015 HMDA Final Rule and the 2018
FIG do not include any language that
would bar a financial institution from
reporting an applicant’s gross annual
income as ‘‘0’’ or even a negative
