We charged off a loan in 2010 due to bankruptcy. We now have an official check made payable to that company that is due for escheatment this year, as it was never cashed. (we refunded a payment in 2010 related to the bankruptcy). I assume we must still forward the funds to the state?

Based on your information I agree. You should be able to contact your state treasure to confirm.
