ABA RCC – FEAR IN THE AIR

Over the years it has become apparent that standing room only (SRO) crowds  for a particular session at the ABA RCC means either:

  • The ABA misjudged the popularity of the topic and assigned it to an undersized room; or
  • There is a sense of fear in the air.

The “fear in the air” SRO topics so far this year include:

  • TRID;
  • HMDA; and
  • Flood Insurance.

HMDA and Flood represent fear of the unknown and these topics have bankers questioning, “What are they going to do to us?” TRID seems to be a known quantity that has bankers wondering, “How can we get all of this completed by August 1?”
