On March 17, 2016, an article was published on the blog entitled “Providing Realtors Copies of the Closing Disclosure”. The article concluded, “neither the lender nor the settlement agent is required to provide a copy of the consumer’s closing disclosure to a real estate broker or agent”.

I just learned of a final rule released by the CFPB on July 7, 2017 (and effective 60 days from publication in the FR). The rule apparently clarifies the ability to share the CD with third parties, including real estate professionals.

Does anyone have any opinions regarding the publication? Have you been providing the customer’s CD to real estate agents? We are told, we are the only bank that does not provide the (buyer’s) closing disclosure to the seller’s real estate agent.
