We have a loan with property located in St. George Island, Florida and in flood zone AE according to the determination and the insurance. The flood insurance policy indicates that it is post FIRM grandfathered and is elevated without enclosure. The flood risk/rated zone is X. How do we prove that the coverage is adequate since it is written on a lower risk-rated zone? We don’t know how to verify that flood zone X is the correct rating.

In my experience the only source of information documenting grandfathering is the insurance agent.
