Today marked the first day of the 2019 ABA Regulatory Compliance Conference in New Orleans, LA.  The sessions went off without a hitch, but the recent storms across the country caused many flight delays and cancellations leaving some behind.  Those who were able to attend the Sunday sessions were tasked with trying to decide which sessions to attend first.  Planning out your daily agenda takes some organization, but there are plenty of topics to keep

On May 30 S. 1693 passed in the House, after previously passing in the Senate, and moved to the president for signature. The bill’s sole function is to extend funding for the National Flood Insurance Program from May 31, 2019 to June 14, 2019.
One year ago, the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act (EGRRCPA) established several new protections for servicemembers and veterans, including: Holding lenders to more stringent requirements when they participate in VA’s refinance programs Ensuring continued foreclosure protections for servicemembers up to one year after they leave active duty Prohibiting medical debt that should have been paid by the VA to be reported as  part of a veteran’s credit history Providing free credit monitoring
