I have a couple of questions regarding origination charges and doc prep charges. Currently we have the origination charge under A. Origination Charges on the TRID and the doc prep fees under B. Services Borrower Did Not Shop For. However, what are the requirements for these two items? Is it possible to increase the doc prep fee if we wish to increase our fees and can show that more time goes into preparing the documents?
In addition, what are others doing with Commercial/Ag type loans? Can we eliminate an origination charge and move it all to doc prep or have origination charge a certain percentage of the loan?
