Checklists are designed to simplify tasks and ensure requirements are met. The HPML Appraisal (Appendix N) Checklist evaluates whether the financial institution has followed the requirements detailed in Appendix N for appraisal related to HPML transactions in order obtain a safe harbor. It provides a series of questions to help determine if each requirement has been satisfied. This checklist can serve as an effective file documentation and/or audit tool.
